August 2028
Ghost Month & End of Summer
August remains hot and humid (27–31°C), but the Hungry Ghost Festival gives the month a unique cultural flavour. Paper effigies burn, street operas echo in neighbourhoods, and free rice distributions feed locals and visitors alike. The Hong Kong Computer & Communications Festival caters to tech lovers. As the summer winds down, back-to-school sales begin and the first hints of autumn appear in the early mornings. Evening outdoor concerts and night markets are still very popular.
