Welcome to 《Museek: Free Jam For All》, a unique, barrier-free musical improvisation workshop hosted by Museek Studio Hong Kong. If you have ever felt that music was too exclusive or required years of professional training, this event is designed for you. Here, the focus is not on technique or perfection, but on connection, exploration, and the raw joy of making sound.

The Museek Philosophy

Museek Studio is far from a traditional music shop. Located in the heart of the Jockey Club Creative Arts Centre (JCCAC), the studio specializes in ethnic, natural, and unconventional instruments—from African djembe and singing bowls to rain sticks made of cactus. Host and artist Jay Ng will guide participants through this session, creating a safe and welcoming space where everyone can feel comfortable expressing themselves.

What to Expect

This is not a formal performance; it is a collaborative playground.

• No experience needed: You do not need to know music theory or how to read notes.
• Inclusive environment: Whether you are a shy beginner or a seasoned pro, there is a place for you. You can participate actively or simply sit back and enjoy the soundscape as a listener.
• Everything is music: The session explores how we can communicate through sound and rhythm rather than just words.

During the session, the host will introduce simple rules to guide the improvisation, ensuring that everyone feels comfortable joining the flow. Participants are encouraged to bring their own instruments or objects to play with, but don't worry if you don't have one—the store's collection of unique instruments will be available for you to borrow and explore.

Join the Community

After the jam, there will be time to discuss the experience, sharing the feelings and stories that emerged during the improvisation. This is an invitation to step outside the conventional boundaries of music and experience the healing and communal power of sound.
