Starring Shi Xiaming, a winner of the Plum Blossom Prize for Chinese Theatre, along with a talented cast from the fourth and fifth generations of the Kun Opera Theatre, this production blends tradition with innovative aesthetics. The play is renowned for its poetic lyrics, lingering singing styles, and dreamlike lighting and staging.

Program Introduction

The story follows Chunyu Fen, who dreams of entering the Kingdom of Ants. He experiences the fluctuations of power, the cycle of romance, and the fleeting nature of glory, only to awaken and realize the emptiness of life. This is a profound exploration of human existence told through the art of Kun Opera. The production is divided into two parts, presented over two evenings to provide a complete narrative experience.

Tickets are available now, priced at HKD $500, $400, $300, and $200. The total runtime is approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes, including a 15-minute intermission. Different repertoires are performed each night, and Chinese and English subtitles are provided.
