Join the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra (HK Phil) as they embark on a thrilling musical adventure, bridging the gap between cinematic scores and grandiose operatic masterpieces.
Program
This program has been carefully curated to feature heroic themes and dynamic rhythms, ensuring an immersive 60-minute journey for all audience members:
- Fučík: Entry of the Gladiators, op. 68
- Hans Zimmer: Selections from Gladiator
- Artie Shaw: Clarinet Concerto
- Khachaturian: Gayane: Sabre Dance
- Koetsier: Concertino for Four Trombones and String Orchestra: 1st movement
- Saint-Saëns: Samson and Delilah: Bacchanale
- Wagner: The Valkyrie: Ride of the Valkyries
Beyond the orchestral powerhouses, HK Phil Principal Clarinet Andrew Simon will showcase his virtuosic skills in Artie Shaw's jazz-infused concerto. Additionally, four talented trombonists—Joyous Wong, K.C. Ko, Thomas Kiu, and Jarod Antonacci—will unite to highlight the commanding resonance of the brass section.
