The Holy Spirit Seminary Open Day 2026 is a highly anticipated annual event held at the historic Holy Spirit Seminary in Wong Chuk Hang. This event provides a rare opportunity for the public to step inside one of Hong Kong's most significant religious institutions to understand the process of clerical formation and the long-standing mission of the Catholic Diocese of Hong Kong. Visitors are encouraged to engage with the seminary's unique environment, history, and spiritual life through a variety of thoughtfully curated activities.
Experience the Seminary Life
Starting with a special Opening Ceremony at 10:00, the day introduces guests to the 'Morning Prayer' (Lauds), a core element of the daily prayer life of priests and seminarians. This provides an immersive spiritual experience that is rarely accessible to the general public. Throughout the day, from 10:30 to 16:15, participants can enjoy various game booths, indulge in local snacks, and witness inspiring stage performances featuring contributions from local schools and diocesan groups.
Highlighted Activities & Slots
To make the most of your visit, we have curated three primary engagement slots. Please note that several of these require registration:
- Holy Spirit Seminary Guided Tour (The 'Awakening' Tour): This deep dive into the inner life of the seminary allows participants to see the seminarian dormitories and hear personal stories from those in training.
- Diocesan Museum Tour ('Old Traces, New Explorations'): A journey through Hong Kong's Catholic history, focusing on precious liturgical artifacts. Please note that the museum has a 60-person capacity limit per session to ensure quality.
- Philosophy & Theology Trial Classes: A unique opportunity to sit in on a real class taught by faculty professors, offering a glimpse into the intellectual rigor of seminary life.
Registration and Participation
While the open day is a festive community event, visitors are strongly advised to complete the Easy Registration online. Those who register in advance will be entitled to a commemorative souvenir upon arrival at the reception desk. Furthermore, registration for specific tours and trial classes will open on July 1, 2026. Links for these sessions will be shared on the official social media channels of the Seminary.
We look forward to welcoming you to this day of discovery and reflection. For more information on the closing mass at 16:30, please stay tuned to our updates.
