The Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra (HK Phil) presents a captivating brass quintet chamber music concert titled "Echoes on the Horizon" at the Tea House Theatre in the West Kowloon Cultural District. This performance showcases the expansive expressive range of brass instruments, weaving together Western classical traditions and beautiful Chinese melodies to foster a profound cultural dialogue through music.

Program

"Echoes on the Horizon" features a diverse selection of pieces that blend the rigor of classical traditions with the creativity of modern composition. The repertoire includes:

• Hohs: Festival Music
• Lo Hau-man: Brilliant Colors
• Ren Guang (arr. Kabu): Colourful Clouds Chasing the Moon
• Ma Wen-qi: Hope in the Darkness
• Vaughan Williams (arr. Villanueva): English Folk Song Suite
• Folk song (arr. Kabu): Three Chinese Folk Songs
• Dani Howard: Blue Pavilion
• Arnold: Brass Quintet

The concert runs for approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes without an intermission, offering an intimate and focused musical journey. This concert is an official "Performance" of the Hong Kong Performing Arts Expo.

Venue & Access

The concert takes place at the Tea House Theatre in the Xiqu Centre, West Kowloon Cultural District. Attendees can easily reach the venue via the MTR (Austin or Kowloon stations). The Xiqu Centre provides a world-class environment with excellent acoustics.
