Highlights
With a libretto by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Nilo Cruz, the narrative masterfully subverts the Greek myth of Orpheus and Eurydice, transplanting the tale to the festive yet poignant setting of the Day of the Dead. The story follows Frida, portrayed by star mezzo-soprano Isabel Leonard, as she briefly departs the underworld to reunite with her husband, Diego, played by baritone Carlos Álvarez. The audience is invited to witness their passionate, painful, and deeply creative journey once more before their final farewell.
