Program Overview
In a future without manuals, how do we adapt and survive? 'Habitat Lab' invites children aged 8 to 14 to join our summer experimental project. In the 'No Manual for the Future' Summer Camp, participants will become young designers, addressing future environmental challenges such as extreme weather and energy crises. By applying observation and creativity, they will co-design a space for refuge and living known as the 'Human-Tree-House.' This program is more than just a workshop; it is an interdisciplinary STEAM experiment that emphasizes the process of observation, testing, iteration, and sharing, allowing children to explore Science, Technology, Environment, Art & Architecture, and 'Madness' (unconventional creativity) in an environment with no standard answers.
Highlights
- Interdisciplinary STEAM Experimentation: Integrating the five pillars of Science, Technology, Environment, Art & Architecture, and 'Madness' (welcoming unconventional ideas).
- Hands-on Learning: Learning through prototyping, environmental testing (wind, water, light, energy), and iterative design.
- Expert Mentor Team: Led by a team of physicists, architects, interdisciplinary artists, and educators who bring diverse perspectives to future exploration.
- Community Co-creation: Hosted at Luk Heung Commons, encouraging the younger generation to engage in dialogues about their community and the future.
