Overview

"#Bae - My Self-inferiority" is a decadent play reading production presented by the theatre group "Wu Wei Fei Tuo." In the fast-paced and high-pressure modern world, many of us carry unspoken burdens and constant internal friction. When these suppressed emotions are not expressed, negative energy accumulates like a snowball, often reaching a breaking point. This performance invites the audience to explore the darkest corners of the human psyche, using a unique play-reading format and solo performance to rawly examine how feelings of inferiority silently consume our daily lives, inviting attendees to confront the decadence and struggle hidden behind smiles.

Performance Details

This production features a solitary, intimate performance that delves into the state of "solitary combat"—exploring how the habit of keeping worries to oneself leads to invisible internal exhaustion. Through dramatic tension and textual deconstruction, the performance navigates the edges of emotion, seeking resonance between fragility and strength. It is more than just a play; it is a conversation about emotional release and self-examination, suitable for any audience member who has felt exhausted, anxious, or doubtful of their own self-worth, offering a theatrical mirror for reflection and solace.

Creative Team

The play is directed and written by Wong Po-yan and features a talented cast, including Yuen Wan-shan, Lau Wai-yiu, and Hung Ka-chak. Wong Hoi-man serves as the reader, adding layers to the textual experience. The production is produced by Tsang Hiu-ying, who also created the promotional video, with Ng Wing-ha serving as the executive producer. Promotional design is provided by Tse Kiu-ying, and promotional photography is captured by dirtywork, establishing a distinct visual language for this production.
