Overview
"MEPoP in Tune: Hearing Your Own Shape" is an intimate live music performance and talk presented by musicians Sun Xiaofan and Xi Chenchen. Throughout their artistic paths, both artists have encountered various mediums including jazz vocals, piano, synthesizers, and percussion. Amidst their respective challenges and creative growth, they will share their experiences, perform each other's works, and engage in live improvisation to explore the quest for finding their unique musical voice.
Performers
- Sun Xiaofan: An independent musician and keyboardist currently pursuing her PhD in Anthropology in Hong Kong. Her debut album, "Not grand love," blends instrumental elements, vocals, jazz, and math rock.
- Xi Chenchen: A jazz singer-songwriter and producer active in international cities. With works like her debut EP "DEBUT" and acclaimed albums "Lost for Words" and "Queen and Elf," she has been recognized by the Freshmusic Awards and became the first musician from mainland China to be featured on Bandcamp Weekly, earning high praise from critics worldwide.
