About the "Drip" Project
"Drip" is a special project curated by Hong Kong theatre practitioner Chan Koon-yan, aimed at systematically organizing and documenting the artistic practices and journeys of "mid-generation" creators born in the 1980s who have been active in the Hong Kong theatre scene for over a decade. This project serves as an artistic dialogue on inheritance, documentation, and reflection, attempting to capture the life journeys of these artists within the context of contemporary Hong Kong's cultural soil, institutional environment, and social climate. By gathering individual "droplets" through in-depth interviews and archival research, "Drip" aspires to keep this creative energy flowing.
Program Introduction
The project focuses on seven Hong Kong creative units, including Fong Kei-tuen, Wu King-yeung, Lin Chun-ho, Skyline Production, Wong Ching-yan, Wong Ka-kui, and curator Chan Koon-yan herself. Having entered the theatre scene around 2007-2010 and dedicated over ten years to their craft, they have developed distinct and mature artistic voices. This sharing session, led by curator Chan Koon-yan, editor-in-chief Wong Tsz-cheung, and research consultant Chan Kwok-wai, will delve into the key findings of the research and editorial process. They will examine the evolution of these creators' artistic techniques, philosophies, and aesthetics, while engaging with the audience on the future development of Hong Kong theatre.
