Highlights
Touch Gallery is honored to present "At the Edge of Light and Shadow," a duo exhibition featuring Hong Kong artists Lewis Lau and Aries Wu. This exhibition brings together their latest works, using delicate painterly language to explore the visual traces left by time on the city’s surface.
Featured Artists
- Aries Wu: Focuses on the connection between plant life and urban emotions. Through depictions of roses, leaf shadows, and street-corner blossoms, he captures the subtle shifts in light, transforming mundane routes into personal, emotional gardens that preserve elusive moments.
- Lewis Lau: Inspired by the French expression "entre chien et loup" (twilight, where light turns to shadow), Lau paints from abroad, looking back at Hong Kong. He constructs urban imagery that teeters between clarity and blur, challenging the viewer's perception of familiar environments and weaving together reality and memory.
About the Program
The exhibition explores the transitional state between light and shadow, reality and memory. Whether it is the natural greens captured by Aries Wu or the urban twilight depicted by Lewis Lau, both artists find common ground in the space between the everyday and the ethereal. Visitors are invited to walk through this city of foliage and streetlamps, cherishing the fleeting moments preserved by their brushstrokes and experiencing the unique charm of the city at dusk.
Venue & Access
The exhibition is hosted at Touch Gallery within the historic Tai Kwun in Central. As a revitalized heritage site, Tai Kwun provides a unique atmosphere for artistic appreciation. The venue is easily accessible via the Central MTR station, followed by a short walk via the Mid-Levels Escalator or Hollywood Road.
Ticketing
This exhibition is free for the public.
