Highlights
Following the overwhelming success of last year's sold-out musical theatre appreciation talks, Actors' Family returns to the Yau Tsim Mong district this year with three brand-new, engaging sessions. This series is designed to bring the magic of musical theatre into the heart of the community, offering accessible insights and live performances for audiences of all ages.
Program
The talks are led by Actors' Family's resident lyricist, Tang Ka-wing (Serena). Beyond covering fundamental musical theatre knowledge, Serena will provide a deeper look into the art of Cantonese lyric writing, exploring how stories and emotions are woven into song. A major highlight of the evening is the live performance segment, where actors will present excerpts from "Flying Over Yau Tsim Mong" and "Traveling Through Yau Tsim Mong." These original works ingeniously blend the unique characteristics of the Yau Tsim Mong community with musical theatre elements, allowing participants to experience local culture through a vibrant musical lens.
