AFTEC: Theatre Discovery

Highlights

"Theatre Discovery" is an immersive arts program curated by the award-winning The Absolutely Fabulous Theatre Connection (AFTEC). As the inaugural event of the "Culture Fun in Yuen Long" initiative, this program invites participants to step behind the curtain at Yuen Long Theatre to experience the realities of professional theatre production firsthand. Whether you are a beginner or a theatre enthusiast, this is your gateway to exploring the magic of the stage.

Program

This workshop offers a practical, hands-on experience where participants will learn how creative visions are transformed into theatrical performances. Participants may choose one of the following workshop tracks:

• Acting Workshop: Develop acting skills and understand the psychological preparation of performers.
• Stage Management & Set/Prop Design Workshop: Learn the art of backstage coordination, spatial design, and prop making.
• Lighting & Sound Design Workshop: Explore the technical aspects of atmospheric design in theatre.

The experience will culminate in a showcase performance at the Yuen Long Theatre Auditorium, allowing participants to witness their learning come to life on stage.

Ticketing

A deposit of HK$100 is required to secure your place. The deposit will be fully refunded to your original payment account 6–8 weeks after attending the event (excluding any processing fees). Absence will result in the forfeiture of the deposit. The event is suitable for ages 6 and above.

Venue & Access

The workshops will be held at Yuen Long Theatre. Please note that lunch (1:00 PM – 2:00 PM) is not included and participants are responsible for their own arrangements on August 13, 2026.
