"Musical Journey to Germany and Austria" Concert

Since its founding in 2021, the Sonorita Orchestra has been dedicated to promoting classical, anime, and film music. This year, the orchestra celebrates its 3rd anniversary with a concert inviting the audience on a musical journey into the heart of German and Austrian traditions. From the intricate splendor of the Baroque era to the structural precision of the Classical period and the expressive freedom of the Romantic era, this performance will delicately explore the humor and joy captured by German and Austrian composers. The concert also features renowned tenor Sun Zihao, who will bring intense emotional depth to a series of art songs.

Program

This concert features a carefully curated selection of German and Austrian masterpieces:

• Handel: Music for the Royal Fireworks – Experience the grandeur of the Baroque era.
• Haydn: Symphony No. 94 in G major, 'Surprise' – Discover the wit and humor in classical music.
• Beethoven: Symphony No. 7 in A major, Op. 92 – Immerse yourself in the relentless energy and rhythm of Beethoven's work.
• Schubert: Erlkönig, Op. 1, D. 328 – A dramatic vocal masterpiece interpreted by tenor Sun Zihao.

Performers

Conducted by Wang Zikuang and led by concertmaster Liao Qifeng, the orchestra brings together musicians passionate about the art form. The addition of tenor Sun Zihao adds rich vocal color and narrative depth to the program, sharing the beauty of classical music through his seasoned performance style.

Venue & Access

The concert will be held at the Cultural Activities Hall of Sha Tin Town Hall, perfect for families and classical music enthusiasts. The program lasts approximately 1.5 hours, including a 15-minute intermission. Please note that children aged 5 or under will not be admitted.

  • Full-time students, senior citizens aged 60 or above, and people with disabilities and their minders can enjoy a 10% discount (HKD 162).
