Highlights

"Why Why Da Feng Xiang" is a large-scale original Cantonese opera tailored for young audiences. The production preserves the essence of traditional Cantonese opera while transforming the classic "Six Kingdoms Great Seal" (Liu Guo Da Feng Xiang) scene into a fun and accessible story. Through lively characters—like the timid Xiao Wu and the gods who guide him—audiences will discover the intricacies of stage design, costumes, and music, dismantling the stereotype that traditional opera is difficult to understand.

Program

With a blend of original storytelling and traditional operatic artistry, the Cha Duk Chang Children's Cantonese Opera Association invites children to experience the beauty and techniques of Cantonese opera. The performance is rich with visual and auditory elements, including intricate costumes, creative stage settings, and traditional singing styles, making it an excellent cultural experience for the whole family. The show runs for approximately 2.5 hours, presented in Cantonese with Traditional Chinese subtitles.
