Presented by Open Printshop, this unique event combines an exhibition tour with a hands-on letterpress printing experience. It offers a fresh perspective on the role of books in contemporary society, allowing participants to explore artistic interpretations of printing while trying their hand at traditional crafts.

Program

The exhibition, titled "Beyond the Ordinary – Contemporary Book Art," challenges conventional definitions of books. The curation features a selection of contemporary artworks alongside rare historical printing artifacts, such as legacy paper forms and printing plates. The guided tour invites visitors to delve into the aesthetics and historical significance behind these exhibits.

Following the tour, participants will engage in a Letterpress Printing Experience. This hands-on workshop provides a rare opportunity to operate traditional printing equipment, feeling the weight of the metal type and the precision of the impression. Using an exhibition-exclusive printing plate, attendees will create their own personalized commemorative cards to take home.
