Program
Over 500 years ago, Johannes Gutenberg invented the wooden printing press, a standardized and industrialized method of letterpress printing that revolutionized the world. In the "Open! Letterpress Printing Workshop," even beginners can become "Gutenberg's apprentices."
Workshop activities include:
- Fundamentals of letterpress printing: Introduction to character structure, type layout, and core concepts.
- Typesetting practice: Learning the techniques of selecting characters and locking the form.
- Manual printing: Operating an Adana hand-operated letterpress to print your own graphic and text works.
This workshop is suitable for individuals aged 16 or above who appreciate physical paper works and are interested in letterpress techniques.
