Whether you are a beginner or an experienced artist, instructor Lau Yin-yeung will guide you in mastering traditional methods such as underpainting, glazing, and texture processing, while integrating your personal modern-day experiences to create unique masterpieces with a classical touch. This course provides a perfect opportunity to blend classic rigor with contemporary innovation, allowing you to create distinctive art pieces.
Program
The course features two distinct themes: 'Portrait Painting in Photographic Style' and 'Flora and Fauna,' running from September to October and November to December. Through the observation and analysis of classical and contemporary artworks, students will learn how to combine traditional skills with contemporary creative thinking. The course emphasizes individual expression, encouraging students to develop their own artistic perspective alongside their technical training.
Class Schedule
Classes are held on Wednesdays, with a total of 6 sessions per course. Afternoon sessions (3:00 PM – 5:45 PM) and evening sessions (7:00 PM – 9:45 PM) are available. Students will be notified of the required tools and materials during the first session. The course is conducted in Cantonese and is suitable for beginners aged 18 and above.

Ticketing
Tuition fees vary depending on the session. Discounts are available for pairs, members of the Hong Kong Arts Centre, Senior Citizen Card holders, and Hong Kong Art School students.
