Program Overview

"Bonn Hero" offers an immersive journey into the life and legacy of Ludwig van Beethoven, the legendary composer born in Bonn. Despite the profound isolation caused by his hearing loss, Beethoven composed symphonies that transformed the world and continue to resonate with listeners today. This production is more than just a concert; it is a dramatic performance where Nathaniel Sun portrays Beethoven's assistant, Ferdinand Ries. Through this unique perspective, the audience is guided through the trials and triumphs of the maestro's life. Complementing the dramatic narrative, pianist Han Lun-ting will perform selected piano works by Beethoven, revealing the inspirations and muses behind his masterpieces. With elegant period costumes and meticulous stage and lighting design, "Bonn Hero" promises a captivating experience for both the eyes and ears.
