Overview
Tai Kwun presents the partner programme "Once Upon a Circus" for the 2nd Hong Kong Performing Arts Expo. Created by cyr wheel artist Li Er and Nanyin artist Kong Chun-kit, this performance takes place at Tai Kwun's iconic Laundry Steps. It fuses the traditional Cantonese storytelling art of Nanyin with contemporary cyr wheel circus performance, using movement and music to portray the lives of street performers in a fresh, crossover format.

About the Production
First debuted at "Circus at Tai Kwun" in 2024, "Once Upon a Circus" returns with expanded elements and real-life stories. The performance acts as a diary of street artists, blending sound, visuals, and movement to depict the intricate, ever-changing nature of the "Jianghu" (the world of street performance), taking the audience on an endless, immersive journey.
