Program Overview

Canadian pianist Jan Lisiecki returns to the Hong Kong City Hall Concert Hall on December 6, 2026, for a highly anticipated piano recital. The program features an eclectic selection of dance-inspired works by composers such as Martinů, Falla, Szymanowski, Schubert, Bartók, Ginastera, Chopin, Brahms, Piazzolla, and Albéniz, showcasing the vibrant rhythmic diversity of the piano repertoire.

Jan Lisiecki is celebrated globally for his refined, imaginative, and deeply intellectual approach to the piano. The New York Times has lauded his "pure, lyrical, and wise" tone, while The Boston Globe describes him as a musician of "exceptional cultivation." Since signing his exclusive contract with Deutsche Grammophon at age 15, Lisiecki has released nine award-winning albums, including recognitions from the Juno Awards and the ECHO Klassik. Beyond his performance career, he is a dedicated UNICEF Ambassador for Canada, using his platform to make a positive impact.

To enhance the audience's appreciation of the works, a free pre-concert talk titled "From Polonaises to Free Tangos: Rhythms Across Cultures" will be held:
