Event Overview

Hong Kong indie singer-songwriter Esther Wu proudly presents her new conceptual EP, 'Mirotopia.' The album title is a portmanteau of 'Mirror' and 'Utopia,' inspired by the 'Heterotopia' theory of French philosopher Michel Foucault. Through the artistic lens of mirrors and reversals, Esther invites listeners to reflect on and challenge the societal frameworks we take for granted.

Program Highlights

This EP release show explores the essence of heterotopia through four distinct characters and narratives. The performance will feature tracks from the new EP, alongside a curated selection of Cantonese jazz adaptations, Jazz Pop, and classic jazz standards. Audience members will also get an exclusive first listen to unreleased works, experiencing the vibrant energy of live jazz in an immersive setting.
