Overview

'Ordinary Ordinary' is an immersive experience designed to explore the nuances of daily life and public space. Initiated by sp/n, a Thai architectural design studio and the 2026 artists-in-residence at CHAT, this event invites the public to pause and rediscover the 'vicinity'—those spaces we traverse daily but often overlook. Combining interactive workshops with academic dialogue, the event provides a unique lens to reconnect with our communities and surroundings.

Highlights

  • Immersive Neighborhood Walk: Led by sp/n and Su Chang, Assistant Professor at the HKU Faculty of Architecture, participants will venture into the Tsuen Wan community, observing the hidden details and meanings embedded within our everyday surroundings.
  • Zine-Making Workshop: Participants will receive custom zine templates designed by sp/n. Using textile materials, you will document your observations and feelings from the walk, creating a personal zine as a unique memento of the journey.
  • Exploring Public Space: Through hands-on practice and discussion, we will explore how public spaces are shaped by human interaction and consider how individuals can participate in and enrich the vitality of the places we inhabit.
