After a 17-year absence, piano virtuoso Yuja Wang makes her triumphant return to the Premiere Performances of Hong Kong 20th Anniversary series. Serving as both soloist and conductor, she joins forces with the Mahler Chamber Orchestra—founded by the legendary Claudio Abbado—to kick off their Asian tour in Hong Kong, promising an unforgettable musical experience.

Program

Renowned for her breathtaking technique and captivating stage presence, Yuja Wang is hailed by Gramophone as one of the 50 greatest classical pianists in recording history. The program includes:

November 9 (Monday): A Brahms Evening

November 10 (Tuesday): Diverse Concertos and Orchestral Works

• Prokofiev: Symphony No. 1, "Classical"*
• Kapustin: Piano Concerto No. 4, Op. 56

• Mozart: Symphony No. 29 in A major, K. 201*
• Tsfasman: Jazz Suite for Piano and Orchestra

*Note: The symphonic works performed by the Mahler Chamber Orchestra will be conducted without a conductor.

The concert will be held at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Concert Hall (10 Salisbury Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon). The venue is easily accessible via MTR at Tsim Sha Tsui or East Tsim Sha Tsui stations.
