Commemorating the 40th anniversary of the 1980s cinematic masterpiece produced by Tsui Hark, the performance serves as a heartfelt tribute to the legendary Leslie Cheung, re-envisioning his immortal tale through modern dance.

Adapted from the classic literary work 'Strange Tales from a Chinese Studio' and the beloved film, 'A Chinese Ghost Story' brings the poignant romance between Nie Xiaoqian and Ning Caichen to the stage. Choreographer Yang Yuntao utilizes a sophisticated language of movement blended with contemporary stage technology to dissolve the boundaries between the mortal world and the afterlife. The production weaves together the haunting melodies and voice of Leslie Cheung, creating an immersive experience that transforms the classic story into a timeless theatrical event.

Venue & Access

The performance will be held at the Grand Theatre, Hong Kong Cultural Centre in Tsim Sha Tsui. Visitors can reach the venue via MTR Tsim Sha Tsui or East Tsim Sha Tsui Station, followed by a short walk through the pedestrian system.

  • Concessions: Half-price tickets are available for full-time students, seniors aged 60+, people with disabilities and their minders, and CSSA recipients (limited availability).
