Jointly presented by the HKAPA and the Centre for Cultural and Sustainability Studies, this workshop features core members from The Theatre Practice, Hung Siu-ting and Tay Yu-ying, discussing the construction of sustainable creative ecologies. How can a creative team build a sustainable ecosystem from scratch without a fixed blueprint? How do creators balance daily production demands with long-term professional development? This workshop moves sustainability from abstract concept to daily practice, inviting participants to explore new possibilities for artistic collaboration and creative gatherings. Through an interactive experience, participants will dissect the challenges of building creative ecologies, using the real-world experiences of "The Theatre Practice" (TTP) as a case study.
Program
We are honored to host core members of Singapore’s renowned independent creative space "The Theatre Practice," including artist and programmer Hung Siu-ting and producer Tay Yu-ying. They will guide participants to visualize the city as a canvas, examining sustainable practices through shared experiences, Q&A sessions, and collaborative exercises. As a cornerstone project of Singapore's historic bilingual theatre company, The Theatre Practice, TTP has become a "playground" for breaking conventional boundaries and fostering human-centric artistic dialogues. This session provides a rare opportunity to connect international experience to your own work, learning how to adapt and refine your "blueprint" in an evolving environment.

The event will take place at HKAPA Classroom 3, located at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, 1 Gloucester Road, Wan Chai. It is easily accessible via the MTR Wan Chai or Admiralty stations.
