The Li-Ning Bad5 Hong Kong Street Basketball Challenge 2026 is the ultimate stage for streetball enthusiasts across the territory. Organised by Li-Ning, this event aims to elevate local basketball talent and provide a platform for athletes to demonstrate their skills on a national level. Starting May 22, the tournament opens its doors to players who hold HK/Macau/Taiwan identity documents and are not registered in the CBA or Hong Kong Basketball Association's current A-grade league.

The Revolutionary Format

This year, the competition introduces the intense '3x3 linked with 1x1' format. Matches last 10 minutes, starting with a 3-on-3 team battle. Once a team reaches 9 points, the game instantly transitions to a 1-on-1 showdown until 15 points are reached. This high-pressure environment demands both elite team chemistry and individual dominance.

Tournament Schedule

  1. Qualifying Rounds: Held at the Kai Yip Recreation Centre from July 4–5, 2026, 48 teams will fight through single-elimination brackets.
  2. Finals Week: The top 16 teams advance to the Tuen Mun Town Plaza from July 25–26, 2026, to compete in a round-robin stage leading to the grand final.

Prizes & Opportunities

The ultimate champion will secure a spot in the Li-Ning Bad5 National Tour, representing Hong Kong against regional elites. The winning team will also receive over HKD 10,000 in cash coupons and professional gear, marking their path as the new generation of streetball legends.
