About the Course

"Watching the eternal within the limited." The "How to Watch" course, presented by Crush Theatre, is designed to guide participants in developing a unique perspective on film appreciation. We believe that for those accustomed to stage or artistic creation, film is not merely a visual record, but an art form with its own language. This course starts with the fundamental question, "Why do I like this film?", and dissects how cinematography, editing, sound, and composition influence both the narrative and audience perception.

• Artistic Interpretation: Instead of rote memorization of terminology, we use simple yet profound prompts—such as "What am I expecting?" and "How do I perceive this character?"—to translate stage sensitivity into cinematic insight.

• Eligibility: Open to individuals aged 12 and above.
• Language: Conducted in Cantonese.
• Preparation: Participants are required to watch the designated films independently before class (available on paid streaming platforms like Netflix).
