Highlights

Led by the CONG Quartet and joined by pianist Zhang Hailiang, this concert showcases the works of Philadelphia-based Hong Kong composer Adrian Wong. The program features the world premiere of "Guard" and the Hong Kong premiere of the "Sugar Water Series," offering a unique look at contemporary musical storytelling inspired by Hong Kong culture, from local desserts to legendary tales.

Program

The concert offers a diverse selection of chamber music. The first half opens with Felix Mendelssohn’s String Quartet No. 2, Op. 12. This is followed by two works by Adrian Wong: the world premiere of "Guard" (commissioned by the CONG Quartet) and the Hong Kong premiere of his 2022 piece, "Sugar Water Series." The second half concludes with Antonín Dvořák’s Piano Quintet No. 2 in A major, Op. 81, a masterpiece known for its joyful and lyrical Bohemian melodies.

The performance is approximately 2 hours long, including an intermission. It is suitable for audiences aged 3 and above.
