A Multisensory Journey through Time and Sound
The Musicus Society proudly presents "The Taste of Music" (《百味樂章》), a cornerstone event of the Musicus Heritage community series. Held at the iconic JC Cube, Tai Kwun, this concert series transforms the historical police station compound into a vibrant stage where history, classical music, and scent art intersect. Curated by Artistic Director and renowned cellist Li Chu-yee, this year's edition promises to be a deeply immersive experience that captures the essence of Hong Kong's diverse cultural tapestry.
Programme Highlights
The programme showcases a blend of Western masterpieces and Chinese musical nuances. The Orchestra Concerts will feature the Musicus Soloists, acclaimed for their breathtaking technique, performing works such as Rameau's Sixth Concert and a specially arranged version of Ravel's Mother Goose Suite. Notably, cellist Li Chu-yee will perform Couperin's Pièces en concert, accompanied by guest concertmaster Bézlodny and renowned violist/singer Rupak.
Adding to the atmosphere, the Chamber Group Concerts offer a more intimate experience, featuring folk melodies from South Africa and works by Bach. A unique collaborative highlight is the partnership with interdisciplinary artist 蔡宛蓉 (Tsai Wan-jung), who has designed bespoke scents to accompany the performance, aiming to awaken memories and evoke the 'taste' of music in the audience.
