Highlights
The "Musicus Heritage Community Concert Series" returns! This upcoming concert, "Sounds of the Heritage," will be held at the Law Ting Pong Scout Centre in Tai Po—a historic site originally serving as the District Office North over a century ago. Set within the iconic red-brick architecture, this event promises an intimate dialogue between chamber music and local heritage.
Program
Curated by Musicus Society Artistic Director Trey Lee and led by former Vienna Philharmonic concertmaster Fedor Rudin, the concert features six outstanding young local string players performing a repertoire that bridges the connection between the land and the music:
- Tchaikovsky: Selection from "The Seasons," Op. 37a (arr. Otto): A delicate portrayal of the changing seasons and rural life.
- Dvořák: String Quintet No. 3 in E-flat Major, Op. 97, "American": A piece brimming with the rhythms and warmth of the New World.
- Bartók: "Romanian Folk Dances" (arr. Werner): An exploration of primitive vitality and folk tradition.
Complementing the musical experience, the Musicus Society partners with "Our Land" to exhibit local rice varieties and rice plant specimens, illustrating the rich agricultural history of the Tai Po region.
