Highlights
'The Last Agenda Before Death' is an immersive issue-based theatre production that focuses deeply on the inevitable end of life: death. Presented by Chung Ying Theatre, this unique performance invites the audience to set aside societal taboos and, within the intimate setting of a black box theatre, contemplate the profound meanings of loss, grief, and the ultimate value of existence.
Program Introduction
When we are thrown into this world, the existence of life implies an end. This project, 'Curious Workshop: Issue-based Theatre Studio 2026', brings together 15 storytellers aged 55 and above, who will share their authentic, real-life encounters with death and the end-of-life journey. Through rigorous research and expert interviews conducted by the creative team and research actors, this production invites the audience to ask: What is grief? How do we find autonomy when faced with our own departure? And in the limited time we have, what meaning can we truly define for ourselves?
Interactive Experience
To foster a private and immersive atmosphere, the performance utilizes a unique interactive audio system:
- Upon entry, audience members will be provided with a wearable audio device and headphones.
- The 15 storytellers will deliver four segments of monologues simultaneously, sharing their personal stories.
- Audience members can choose from 15 different channels and switch between them at will.
- Important Note: All monologues are performed live; the audio cannot be paused, fast-forwarded, or rewound. Listeners are encouraged to focus on the current moment.
