Yau Shui-man x Cheung Tsz-ling 'The Last Agenda Before Death' Theatre Performance

Overview

Once a human is thrown into this world, the existence of life implies an end. Chung Ying Theatre presents 'The Last Agenda Before Death,' a unique theatrical production co-created by Yau Shui-man and Cheung Tsz-ling. The creative team, alongside research-focused actors, has conducted extensive data collection and expert interviews to explore the profound topic of 'death.' The production features 15 storytellers aged 55 or above who will personally share their real life-and-death experiences, inviting the audience to reflect on the nature of grief, the agency of life, and the meaning we assign to our finite time.

Highlights

The most distinctive feature of this performance is its immersive audio design. Before entering the theatre, each audience member will be equipped with a personal listening device and headphones. During four monologue segments, 15 storytellers will simultaneously share their life stories. The audience can choose which channel to listen to, creating a deeply personalized viewing experience. As these monologues are performed live, they cannot be paused, fast-forwarded, or rewound, symbolizing the irreversibility and uniqueness of life's journey.
