Overview
Is "home" a physical location or an inner state of being? The Hong Kong Dance Alliance presents a curated screening of three distinct dance film works: "Peak Hour in the House", "Mountains, Seas, Panorama", and "LOOP / HOLE". Through the intersection of camera work and choreography, these films guide the audience through myths, dreams, and urban landscapes, sparking a profound dialogue about displacement, exploration, and the search for belonging.
Highlights
- Diverse Perspectives: Spanning across creative dimensions, from the coexistence of modern anxiety to a modern reimagining of the "Classic of Mountains and Seas", and the reconstruction of memory within Hong Kong's urban landscape.
- Post-Screening Talk: A dedicated session where the audience can engage directly with the creative team to gain deeper insights into the artistic intentions and technical processes behind the works.
- Authentic Filmmaking: "LOOP / HOLE" is shot entirely on location in Hong Kong with no AI or CGI, capturing the genuine texture of the city and its fading memories.
Program Details
- "Peak Hour in the House" (7 mins): A look at the psychological state of coexisting with anxiety during solitude, visualizing internal thoughts as if turning the pages of a diary.
- "Mountains, Seas, Panorama" (30 mins): Inspired by the "Kua Fu Chasing the Sun" legend, exploring the realm between dreams and reality to find a place where the soul feels at rest.
- "LOOP / HOLE" (30 mins): A dancer's exploration of a different dimension of "home", capturing fading urban vistas of Hong Kong to preserve precious memories.
