Highlights

This workshop offers a deep experience of the interaction between body and camera, going beyond traditional photography techniques. Led by instructor Lan Ka-wing, participants will learn how to connect body weight shifts with camera movement, effectively turning the lens into an extension of the limbs. No professional background is required—all you need is curiosity about bodily perception and visual creation.

Program

"The right time to roll the camera is when your eyes are truly ready." Inspired by the dance short film Peak Hour in the House, this workshop invites participants to experience the dual roles of "dancer" and "director." Through group exercises, you will conduct "one-take" video experiments, observing how the same dance movements can be captured from different perspectives to create unique visual narratives. Participants will explore how to use body language and camera movement to document the dynamic aesthetics of dance.

Performers

Presented by the Hong Kong Dance Alliance, the workshop features artist Lan Ka-wing, who will guide students in exploring the artistry and practice of screendance.
