Overview
"PuDrama" presents a Mandarin-language production of the acclaimed double-bill play "Blue Heart" by renowned British playwright Caryl Churchill at the Hong Kong Fringe Club. This production delves into the intricacies of family dynamics, linguistic struggles, and human desire through two distinct yet thematically intertwined plays: "Heart's Desire" and "Blue Kettle."
Heart's Desire
"Come home, child." This story unravels the complex layers of family, regret, and trauma. After decades away, what happens when someone finally returns home? Are they greeted by the mundane, or by something buried deep within the trauma of the past? The play forces audiences to confront the absurdity and the hidden emotions lingering within the home.
Blue Kettle
What does "Blue Kettle" mean? In a dangerous and surreal emotional game, a man searches through archives to find mothers who have lost their children, inserting himself into their lives as their long-lost son. This play serves as a profound inquiry into identity, belonging, and the fragility of language in the search for happiness.
