Overview

Have you ever wondered what would happen to your medical care if, one day, you were critically ill or in a coma and unable to speak for yourself? The [Life & Death Department Store] Workshop specially invites Mr. Leung Kin-fai, a Case Manager from "Alongside," to demystify "Advance Medical Directives (AMD)." This workshop aims to promote end-of-life care and public education, empowering participants to plan ahead while they are healthy, ensuring their autonomy is protected even at the final stages of life.

Program Highlights

Guided by a professional case manager, participants will delve into the core values of AMD, including:

  • Legal Basis & Purpose: Understand why an Advance Medical Directive is a vital document for preserving individual autonomy.
  • Application Scenarios: Explore the medical situations in which your advance directives will be activated.
  • Procedures & Key Considerations: From preparation to execution, clarify every important step and address common misconceptions and myths surrounding AMD.

This is not just a one-way lecture but an opportunity to engage with a professional. Through this session, you will learn how to articulate your medical preferences clearly, ensuring that if you ever lose the capacity to express your wishes, medical staff will still be able to honor your decisions, achieving true "end-of-life autonomy."
