Highlights

"Street Future Tense" is an urban exploration combining interdisciplinary dialogue with field experience. Split into a seminar and field walkabouts, the event aims to redefine the public functions of our streets. We invite policymakers, academics, and urban designers to discuss how streets can evolve from mere transit infrastructure into human-centric living spaces, connecting all sectors to outline a future city blueprint for Hong Kong.

Program

Seminar

Analyzing the status and potential of Hong Kong's streets through four dimensions: policy, data-driven research, public life, and personal experience. The seminar moves from macro policy to micro street corner design:

  • New Perspectives in Urban Design: Transport Policy x Behavioral Science
  • Making Data Human: Information-led Future Street Design
  • Returning to Street Life: From International Experience to Grounded Urban Design

Walkabouts (Guided Tours)

Field trips guide participants through the Central & Western and Eastern districts to experience the pulse of the streets and uncover possibilities in urban corners:

  • Finding a Seat? (ft. @grabaseat.hk)
  • North Point Public Space Study (ft. @hkpsi)
  • Street Methodology (ft. @polyudesign)
