Art Like Water: Watercolor and Ink

Overview

This course invites you to explore the intersection of watercolor and Chinese ink painting. Under the guidance of instructor Szeto Chi-ming, students will begin with basic watercolor 'wet-on-wet' techniques, systematically mastering color theory, shading, blending, and texture application. The program also integrates the essence of Chinese ink painting, focusing on washes, line work, negative space, and spatial composition. By painting still life, flowers, landscapes, figures, and abstract subjects, participants will learn how to blend Eastern and Western artistic techniques into their own creative expression.
