Panasonic Presents Musical "Operation Oops" | Hong Kong Repertory Theatre

Program Overview

A special "mission" of survival is about to unfold on the stage of the Hong Kong Repertory Theatre! The original Cantonese musical "Operation Oops," adapted from the award-winning novel by Macao playwright Li Yu-leung, tells a story about ordinary citizens driven into a corner by the city's housing crisis. The story unfolds as a group of desperate individuals decides to execute a bold and absurd plan: kidnapping a major real estate developer. With no "budget" but plenty of premeditation, will this ragtag crew succeed, or will they find themselves in an "oops" situation?

Highlights

Featuring an elite creative team, including composer, lyricist, and arranger Leon Ko and director Fong Chun-kit, this production marks their reunion following the success of "The Impossible Trial" and "The Awakening." It promises to be a not-to-be-missed highlight of the year. Through music and absurd narrative, the performance delves deep into the struggles of modern city dwellers, their longing for a home, and their unique interpretation of justice.
