Overview
'Poetic Maze: Devised Theatre Creative Workshop 2.0' marks the grand finale of the 'Poetic Form Devised Theatre' experiment. This production features 17 emerging theatre artists who have collaboratively devised a stage work inspired by literary masters. The narrative follows a protagonist who, after his mother disappears, visits a bookstore that opens only at midnight. There, he meets a young woman known as the 'Dark Lady,' sparking a profound journey of memory, search, and self-discovery.
Highlights
This production weaves together four classical poems, interpreted by four student directors to create a multi-layered theatrical experience:
- Shuji Terayama's 'Playing with Dolls': A reflection on the boundaries between memory and oblivion.
- Shakespeare's 'Sonnet' (Perhaps Seeing Autumn): A deep exploration of time and love.
- Charles Baudelaire's 'A Carcass': Finding essence amidst the beauty and decay of life.
- Bertolt Brecht's 'Reminiscence of Marie A.': A melancholic search through time.
