Joyful Awakening: Mental Health, Art, and Community Development

Highlights

Do you feel the need to restore inner peace and build genuine connections with others in our fast-paced society? This workshop is more than an art class; it is a unique journey into community development research and the spirit of UN human rights conventions. Through artistic creation, participants will re-examine how to practice social inclusion in their daily lives.

Program

In this course, tutor Cheung Hing-yee will guide students through the intersection of mental health and art. The curriculum includes:

• Analyzing case studies of mental health-related community art organizations globally.
• Sharing practical experiences from Hong Kong, Mainland China, the UK, and beyond.
• Exploring core concepts such as "support," "discrimination," and "equality principles."
• Reimagining the link between community services and rights advocacy through interactive creation to co-create inclusive community art solutions.
