Highlights
Following the sold-out success of the 2025/26 season, HKU MUSE proudly returns with the "Piano Laureate Series 2026/27." This season features performances by some of the most celebrated pianists in the world today, all of whom have triumphed at the most prestigious international competitions.
Program & Performers
This year's series features exceptional solo recitals:
- Yulianna Avdeeva: The 2010 Chopin Competition winner and 2025 jury member, known for her sharp and nuanced playing. Her program features Boulez's 12 Notations, Ravel, the Hong Kong premiere of Dai Fujikura's Quiet Offering, and Chopin's 12 Etudes, Op. 25.
- Kevin Chen: A 21-year-old rising star who has won top prizes at the Rubinstein, Geneva, and Liszt competitions. His debut recital explores a journey of "Transformation" with works by Beethoven, Mendelssohn, Scriabin, and his own arrangement of Liszt's Les Préludes.
