Overview

The Hong Kong Design Centre's DX Design Hub presents 'Cuju & Flower: Motion as Design, Play as Culture,' an exhibition that invites you to experience freestyle football from an entirely new perspective. This project redefines sports as 'design in motion,' transforming technical freestyle football into an accessible, immersive cultural experience for the public.

Highlights

The exhibition is structured around four main components that bridge the gap between football and design:

  • Introduction to Freestyle Football: A visual timeline mapping the origins and global evolution of the sport.
  • Panna KO Zone: A digital interactive installation that recreates the thrill of street one-on-one 'nutmeg' challenges.
  • Athlete Stories Wall: A multi-screen display highlighting the personalities, styles, and stories of local and international freestyle football athletes.
  • Motion Lab: An experimental space where participants use body movements to generate real-time data art, turning physical trajectories into visual design concepts.

Program

Beyond the exhibition, 'Cuju & Flower' functions as a season-long cultural program suitable for all ages. It features open-day freestyle football challenges, workshops on freestyle skills and fashion, public community play sessions, and interdisciplinary design talks exploring the possibilities between sports, fashion, and digital creativity.
