Highlights

Organized by Fenglin Shanhai Dance Production with the support of Beijing Dance/LDTX, the 4th Wind & Thunder Dance Platform will take place from July 3 to 19, 2026, at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre. With the theme 'Flowering on the Ground', this year’s platform celebrates the achievements of Chinese modern dance troupes founded between 2010 and 2025, showcasing the vibrant and evolving landscape of contemporary dance.

Program

The platform is divided into two distinct segments:

  • Special Invitation (July 3-5): Featuring 'Miss Me, Then Come Look at My Painting!' by the Hong Kong Dance Company and guest choreographers Shi Xuan and Zhou Niannian (Xuan Nian Space).
  • Featured Performances (July 17-19): A total of six modern dance works will be presented, with two pieces performed daily, offering a deep dive into the evolution of physical expression.
  • 'The Divine Comedy' (Eagle Theatre, Beijing): Choreographed by Yu Jinying and Hu Jing, this piece was praised by France's Le Monde as a '21-minute wonderland and dream'. It challenges the limits of movement when the body is restricted.
  • 'You' (Banshan Dance People, Changsha): Choreographed by Luc Jacobs (Belgium), this work explores deep-seated emotional desires. It invites audiences into a sensory-rich universe, examining the tension between beauty, madness, and the complexities of the human psyche.

The event will be held at the Studio Theatre of the Hong Kong Cultural Centre, located at 10 Salisbury Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon. The venue is easily accessible via the Tsim Sha Tsui or East Tsim Sha Tsui MTR stations.
