Overview

Presented by Wind-Mountain-Sea Dance Production and co-organized by BeijingDance/LDTX, the 4th Wind Thunder Dance Platform returns to Hong Kong. This year's theme, 'Rooting and Blooming,' focuses on the creative growth and evolution of China's contemporary dance scene over the past fifteen years (2010–2025).

Program Highlights

The festival will be held at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Grand Theatre from July 3 to 19, 2026. The program includes:

  • Special Presentation: From July 3 to 5, the Hong Kong Dance Company and guest choreographers Shi Xuan and Zhou Niannian (Xuan-Nian Space) will present Miss Me, Come See My Painting!.
  • Featured Works: From July 17 to 19, the platform will showcase six contemporary dance pieces, with two performances daily. Highlights include Tong Long by choreographer Xu Yiming and the Guiyang Wu Dance Troupe, which depicts the journey of youth from confusion to inner harmony, and Illusion, choreographed by Liu Xiangyu, Qi Pingping, and Dong Kang, performed by the Ningbo Deep Sea Contemporary Dance Troupe, exploring the themes of love, courage, and self-discovery.

About the Works

Tong Long draws inspiration from the sunrise, symbolizing the transition from the darkness of adolescence to the brilliance of maturity. Illusion reflects on the complexities of the human experience, pondering the questions of identity and the enduring search for a place to belong through deeply emotive choreography.
