The 'Semordnilap' graduation exhibition centers on the concept of linguistic reversal. Derived from the term 'Semordnilap'—a word that spells out another distinct word when read backward—the exhibition explores the profound transformations that occur during moments of transition. It symbolizes the shift from one state to another, much like how 'stressed' can transform into 'desserts' or 'reviled' into 'deliver', inviting visitors to contemplate the potential for change embedded in endings.

Program

Jointly presented by the Hong Kong Art School and RMIT University, this exhibition showcases original works from the Bachelor of Arts (Fine Art) graduating class. Through their creations, these artists invite you into the 'in-between' spaces of existence. The works challenge perceptions, encouraging viewers to re-examine the current era while finding inspiration in the power of perspective shifts and the emergence of new beginnings at the threshold of their professional careers.

Venue & Access

The exhibition is hosted at the Pao Galleries, located on the 4th and 5th floors of the Hong Kong Arts Centre, 2 Harbour Road, Wan Chai, Hong Kong. It is easily accessible by public transportation from Wan Chai MTR station.
