Program

  • 'Zhong Kui' (July 24): Premiered in the 1980s with over 2,000 performances, this production follows the legendary tale of Zhong Kui, the ghost-catcher. Featuring four master artists, the performance highlights intricate psychological transitions and high-level physical dexterity.
  • 'The Lotus Lantern' (July 25): A classic mythological drama that debuted in 1960, blending traditional operatic style with elements like silk ribbon and sword dances to narrate the legendary story of Chen Xiang rescuing his mother.
  • Selected Excerpts (July 26): A showcase of technical prowess featuring 'Nan Bei He,' 'Hu Family Manor,' 'Injustice to Dou E,' and 'Bloody Battle at Wa Qiao Pass,' highlighting the expertise of the company’s sword-and-horse performers and martial artists.
