A Century of Stories, A Journey of Discovery
Celebrate the centenary of Munsang College with PHILO‧SOPHIA, an original English musical that traverses a century of history, memories, and aspirations. Developed over two years by a dedicated team of hundreds—including students, teachers, and alumni—this production weaves together drama, music, dance, and theatrical technology to explore the profound questions of "education" and "happiness."
The Story
In a future world, a girl named Sophia is disillusioned by the "perfect" yet hollow education system. Her life changes when an Artificial Intelligence selects her to travel back in time, one hundred years into the past. There, she encounters Philo, a youth similarly lost in his pursuit of education. Their journey becomes a whimsical adventure across different eras of Munsang College. Through their encounters, they discover that learning is not merely about accumulating knowledge, but an adventurous pursuit of meaning and happiness.
Event Highlights
- Original Production: A collaborative masterpiece involving current students, faculty, and alumni.
- Multi-Disciplinary Art: A seamless blend of theatrical performance, live music, choreography, and innovative stage tech.
- Reflective Theme: An invitation to reflect on what "true learning" means to us today.
